Dr. Robbins came to the First United Methodist Church of Temple in 2006. After serving four years as an Army officer in an armored cavalry regiment, Dr. Robbins moved to Texas in 1989 to begin seminary. He completed his Masters of Divinity at Brite Divinity School at TCU in 1993 and his Doctor of Ministry degree in Evangelism at Perkins School of Theology at SMU in 2013. Prior to his appointment at FUMC Temple, Tom served churches in Waco, TX, Ovilla, TX and Haslet, TX. Dr. Robbins is an ordained Elder in Full Connection with the Central Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church. Tom and his wife, Shannon, have two daughters: Lindsey and Caitlyn Su. In his spare time, he enjoys reading and raising cattle. Tom has horses so that his wife will stay married to him.
Jannette came to FUMC in 2013. She received her MDiv from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary in May 2014, and was recently ordained an Elder in Full Connection at the 2016 Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church. Jannette has her B.A. from the University of Texas at Arlington and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Texas Wesleyan University School of Law (now Texas A&M). Jannette sees her role as Associate Pastor as one who equips and empowers the people of FUMC Temple to be more than church members - to be disciples of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Currently, Jannette is leading the way on our "Path to Dicipleship." Not sure what that means? Drop her a line and find out! Among other things, Jannette leads a women's Bible study called, "Dangerous Women," our Invisible Chains ministry which fights human trafficking, and our Global Missions team. Jannette has been married for 15 years to Jeff, who is Lead Pastor of FUMC Killeen, and is step-mom to two daughters. She loves music, animals, scrapbooking, and health & fitness.
Director of Youth Ministries
Ken has lived and taught in Temple for 15 years. He is a certified candidate for ministry and has been a member of FUMC for 2 years. Although Ken grew up in Dallas, his family has been in the Temple area for over 150 years. Ken attended Texas A&M and has his Masters in Education Administration. Ken is attending Iliff School of Theology’s online program for his Master of Divinity. Ken has been married for 17 years to Abbey, who volunteers in the children’s program and teaches at Scott Elementary. Ken and Abbey have two children; Andrew who is ten and Mallory who is seven. Ken is an ultra-marathoner which means he runs races over 26.2 miles though he is always ready for a 5K if you need a pacer.
Director of Children's Programs
Amanda has been the Director of Children's Programs since June 2013. She is a graduate of Burnet High school and an alum of Texas Tech University. She taught English as a Second or Other Language for 5 years prior to coming to Temple FUMC. Amanda enjoys spending time with her family and friends, playing with her labrador and can almost always be found with a large cup of coffee in hand.
Melissa has been a member of FUMC Temple since 1993 and has been on staff for 15 years. She and her husband Scott enjoy spending time together as a family with their beautiful daughter. Melissa loves reading and is frequently spotted at Hobby Lobby or watching Downton Abbey while sipping chai latte.
Charlie has been working at FUMC Temple since July of 1998, and member since 1954. Charlie is a Temple High graduate, Class of 1972. He continued his education at Baylor University and aquired his BBA in 1977. His children and grandson, Creed, are very important to him. Interests and hobbies include cattle ranching and Civil War History.
Pete Eimen grew up in eastern Iowa. He has a BA in Accounting from Michigan State University and an MA in Accounting from the University of Iowa. He spent most of his career as an internal auditor in the banking and healthcare industries. Pete and his wife Linda have lived in Temple and have been a part of FUMC since 1987. They have two daughters and four grandchildren. He joined the staff of FUMC in 2010. He enjoys reading, following many sports, travel, and table baseball.
Director of Mother's Day Out
Sonia has been a part of the Temple community for about 20 years. She is married, has 2 grown children, 2 step-children at home, and 3 grandkids! She has a bachelors in business management & is excited to be our new MDO & Preschool Director!
Tino Solis has been with Temple FUMC for 16 years. He and his wife of 44 years, Dathin, have 2 children and 6 grandchildren. Tino was a professional drummer for seven years before driving trains. He loves spending time with his family, BBQing and listening to Tejano & 50's Rock music.
Lisle was born and raised in Franklin, Wisconsin. He spent 20 years in the US Army retiring in Copperas Cove Texas in 1991. After his stint in the Army, he has worked in facility maintenance in various places to include 11 years at Scott and White Hospital. He moved to Temple in 2000. He is married to Sandy Meeker. He has 3 sons and 3 daughters, 17 grandchildren and 7 great grandkids. He is a business owner and a member of the chamber of commerce. He has spent most of his adult life working with the Boys Scouts and is currently the Advancement Chairman for Chisholm Trail District. He and Sandy are members of First United Methodist Church, Temple. He became a member of the FUMC staff just a little over a year. He is a member of the Temple Breakfast Lions Club and works with several local charities.
Dr. Carl Bradley
Dr. Bradley has been organist at FUMC for 8 years and has served as a church organist since he was 14 years of age. After graduating from college with a bachelor’s degree, he entered the field of education where he has been a teacher and administrator for 53 years. Dr. Bradley currently teaches child development and education classes at Temple College and is a supervisor for alternative certification through the Texas Education Agency. His graduate degrees are from Texas A&M University/Commerce. He and his wife, Becky, frequently give organ and piano concerts throughout the Central Texas area. Outside of music and teaching, Dr. Bradley enjoys cars, sports, and gardening.
