• Dr. Tom Robbins

    Senior Pastor

    Dr. Robbins came to the First United Methodist Church of Temple in 2006. After serving four years as an Army officer in an armored cavalry regiment, Dr. Robbins moved to Texas in 1989 to begin seminary. He completed his Masters of Divinity at Brite Divinity School at TCU in 1993 and his Doctor of Ministry degree in Evangelism at Perkins School of Theology at SMU in 2013. Prior to his appointment at FUMC Temple, Tom served churches in Waco, TX, Ovilla, TX and Haslet, TX. Dr. Robbins is an ordained Elder in Full Connection with the Central Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church. Tom and his wife, Shannon, have two daughters: Lindsey and Caitlyn Su. In his spare time, he enjoys reading and raising cattle. Tom has horses so that his wife will stay married to him.

  • Brian Longley

    Associate Pastor

    A native of Central Texas, Brian began his appointment at First United Methodist Church of Temple in 2017. Prior to joining the pastoral team in Temple, Brian served as Pastor of First United Methodist Church of Hico, TX. His educational preparation for ministry includes Clinical Pastoral Education at UK HealthCare (2016), a Masters of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, KY (2016) and a B.A. in Religion from Baylor University (2011). Brian and his wife, Megan (Phoenix, AZ), welcomed their daughter Aubrey in 2017. In his spare time, Brian loves to share meals with friends, fish, embarrass himself on the tennis court, and watch college sports. Perhaps his greatest achievement was his victory in a watermelon eating contest.


  • Amanda Herridge

    Director of Children's Programs

    Amanda has been the Director of Children's Programs since June 2013. She is a graduate of Burnet High school and an alum of Texas Tech University. She taught English as a Second or Other Language for 5 years prior to coming to Temple FUMC. Amanda enjoys spending time with her family and friends, playing with her labrador and can almost always be found with a large cup of coffee in hand. 

  • Grace Hoel

    Director of Youth Programs

    Grace is a Central Texas Local, raised in nearby Harker Heights. She graduated from Baylor University in 2016 with a BS Ed and majored in Recreation and Leisure Services. She has experience in camping ministry and loved becoming involved with the Baylor Wesley Foundation while in college. Currently serving as Youth Director, she serves with our youth and children's activities in many capacities for the church.  Grace enjoys the outdoors, naps, and visiting friends all over the country. 

  • Melissa Piland

    Administrative Assistant

    Melissa has been a member of FUMC Temple since 1993 and has worked for the church since 1998. Melissa graduated from Temple College. She and her husband have two children. Melissa enjoys her children, reading, and sparkling water. 

  • Charlie Davis

    Church Administrator

    Charlie has been working at FUMC Temple since July of 1998, and member since 1954. Charlie is a Temple High graduate, Class of 1972. He continued his education at Baylor University and acquired his BBA in 1977. His children and grandchildren, Creed, Lude, Casley, and Sophie, are very important to him. Interests and hobbies include cattle ranching and Civil War History.  

  • Pete Eimen

    Finance Secretary

    Pete Eimen grew up in eastern Iowa. He has a BA in Accounting from Michigan State University and an MA in Accounting from the University of Iowa. He spent most of his career as an internal auditor in the banking and healthcare industries. Pete and his wife Linda have lived in Temple and have been a part of FUMC since 1987. They have two daughters and four grandchildren. He joined the staff of FUMC in 2010. He enjoys reading, following many sports, travel, and table baseball. 

  • Kay Birkholz

    Director of Adult, Women's, and Evangelism Ministries

    Kay is currently Director of Adult, Women, and Evangelism Ministries. She has worked on staff of FUMC Temple in different capacities since she and her husband became members in 1976. Forty-three years ago Kay was one of the founders of our Preschool & Mother’s Day Out Program. She was Director of Children and Family Ministries 1987-2004. This past year she served as interim director of our Preschool & Mother’s Day Out Program.   

    She graduated from Bangs High School and continued her education at Howard Payne University School of Business, Central Texas College, Temple College and SMU Perkins School of Theology.

    She and her husband, Howard, are the parents of three grown children and five grand boys. Her greatest joys are spending time sharing God’s love, family, travel, and enjoying old & new friends.  

  • Tara Sutherland

    Director of FUMC Temple Preschool & Mother's Day Out

    Tara Sutherland became Director of the Preschool & MDO program in June 2018. She graduated from Belton High School and continued her education at Texas Tech University. She graduated with a degree in Human Development and Family studies. She also has a teaching certificate in Early Childhood-4th grade. She taught 1st grade for ten years prior to being the director. She taught five years in Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD, and her last five years were taught at Sparta Elementary in Belton. She also attended FUMC Preschool/MDO as a child. Tara and her husband, Brian, live in Salado with their dog Riley. In her spare time she enjoys being outdoors, spending time with family and friends, and reading a good book.  

  • Dr. Carl Bradley

    Organist

    Dr. Bradley has been organist at FUMC since 2007 and has served as a church organist since he was 14 years of age. After graduating from college with a bachelor’s degree, he entered the field of education where he has been a teacher, public school administrator, and university administrator since 1961. Dr. Bradley currently teaches child development and education classes at Temple College and is a supervisor for alternative certification through the Texas Education Agency. His graduate degrees are from Texas A&M University/Commerce. He and his wife, Becky, frequently give organ and piano concerts throughout Texas. Outside of music and teaching, Dr. Bradley enjoys cars, sports, and gardening.

  • Craig Pitrucha

    Sanctuary Choir Director

    Craig has been facilitating worship through song since 1984. He is retired from teaching after being a choir director for 25 years in the Belton Independent School District. He graduated from Temple High School and the University of Mary Hardin Baylor. Craig has led music at Temple Evangelical Brethren Church, First Christian Temple, Grace United Methodist in Copperas Cove, and Salado United Methodist Church before coming to FUMC Temple in August of 2011. Craig loves to read, play dominoes, and fix anything that is broken. He has been married to Meg Chamlee Pitrucha since 2008.

  • Dr. Jonathan & Mrs. Emily Gary

    Directors of Children's Choirs

    Jonathan & Emily Gary have been married for 16 years and have two children, John Mark & Michael. Emily Gary served as a public school music teacher for six years. Three of those six years was teaching music to kindergarten through fifth graders. Emily has a bachelor's and master's degrees in music. 

    Jonathan Gary is licensed to teach Kindermusik (an early childhood music program). During graduate school he served on a church staff as a Director of Children's Music & Ministry. He has a bachelor's and master's degrees in music plus a doctorate in education. 

    Emily & Jonathan love ministering to the children of the church through music and fun! 

  • Samuel Davis

    Pianist

    Samuel Davis has been the Assistant Choir Director at Temple High School for three years.  Previously, he taught at Palo Alto and Live Oak Ridge Middle Schools in Killeen ISD.  A native of Belton, he was a Texas All-State Choir member for four years and received multiple Outstanding Soloist awards at the Texas State Solo & Ensemble Contest while under Craig Pitrucha’s direction.  He later received a Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Mary-Hardin Baylor, where he won several National Association of Teachers of Singing competitions.  He frequently performs as a soloist and accompanies soloists and choirs in the area.  Previously serving as pianist at Fellowship Baptist Church and Lakeview Baptist Church, for the last three years he has been the Director of Music at Grace United Methodist Church in Copperas Cove.  His parents are Bruce and Janese Baugh of Belton, and his sisters are Julie Davis of California and Stephanie Martinka of Bartlett.
